Step into the role of

Control Room Operator

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling wastewater treatment from the Control Room to ensure that the budgeted supply of wastewater from customers is treated. You will do this safely, efficiently, compliant with permits and according to applicable safety and environmental regulations. You proactively propagate “controlled change” in close cooperation with the plants. You will report hierarchically to the Operations Manager and functionally supervise outside operators. As a Control Room Operator, you control and monitor standalone wastewater treatment in coordination with outside operators and other relevant stakeholders. You estimate (safety) risks from expertise and are authorized to take necessary measures. You will work in continuous shift; 5 shifts.

Management and organization

You control and monitor the various sub-processes of the wastewater treatment process. You have frequent and intensive contact with plants, directing discharge and intervening where necessary. You have an important signal function towards management in case of anomalous discharges.

Safety, order and cleanliness

You apply rules and regulations about health, safety and environment in all work activities. Work must be performed safely and according to and in compliance with laws and regulations. You oversee compliance with laws and regulations within your own work area and more importantly, you hold others accountable for desirable safe behavior.

Communication and direction

You functionally manage Outside Operators and motivate and inspire them to achieve safety, quality, environmental and quantity objectives. You will provide directions within your work area, liaise with and inform relevant stakeholders, including plants.

Continuous improvement

Recognize and initiate improvements and propose and implement (continuous) improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Manage failures and incidents

You will analyze and record equipment malfunctions and ensure correct handover after repair. You initiate necessary actions in case of process disruptions and incidents, taking into account internal procedures, processes, laws and regulations.

  • You have at least an MBO4 working and thinking level
  • VAPRO-C, UTAZ or equivalent
  • Broad experience in manufacturing/process industry environment
  • You demonstrate a healthy degree of “ownership
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages both verbally and in writing
  • You know how to work, are flexible and have a positive attitude
  • You are stress resistant, organized, keep an overview and have a can-do attitude.
