That is why we are looking for a driven SHE Officer who is keen on risks, sees opportunities for improvement and knows how to get others on board with a strong safety culture.

As SHE Officer, you will carry out Circle’s SHE strategy and put it into practice on a daily basis. You are the point of contact in the field of safety, health and environment within your work area and serve as a sparring partner for management and colleagues. With your expertise you know how to advise, coach and where necessary test for compliance and enforcement.

You are part of the Circle SHE team and work in particular with Waste Water Services (IAZI) and in coordination with colleagues at Infra Services (OBL area) and Real Estate & Facilities. Together you will ensure the continuous improvement of SHE performance, strengthening the safety culture and further professionalizing the organization in the SHE area.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate laws and regulations, environmental permits and internal SHE guidelines into practical implementable measures.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the development and implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee safe work execution.
  • Serve as knowledge carrier and point of contact for the contractor safety topic, including assessment of SHE performance of hired parties.
  • Encourage HSE leadership and strengthen safety culture within all levels of the organization.
  • Function as prevention officer and contribute to the preparation and implementation of SHE plans and reports.

We are looking for a committed and analytically strong SHE Officer who really understands safety, health and environment. Someone who enjoys working together, but who can also set his or her own course independently. You know the balance between advising and enforcing, have an eye for detail without losing the big picture and communicate easily with people at every level in the organization.

Qualifications

  • Training in Higher Safety Engineering (HVK), or in advanced stage of completion.
  • HBO work and thinking level with additional SHE applications.
  • Affinity for Chemistry, Environment and Engineering (HBO Chemical Engineering, Environment and/or Process Technology is recommended).
  • Knowledge of both national and Site laws and regulations pertaining to Safety, Health, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety Management and if applicable cGMP.
  • Be familiar with accident/incident analysis techniques (RCA, Tripod, HFA).
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Outlook) and use of the Internet.
