As Shift Supervisor OBL Site you play a crucial role in the safe and responsible operation of the Outside Battery Limit (OBL) area. You connect policy with practice and see to it that operations are controlled and run according to the rules, and with your keen eye and presence on the shop floor, you make a difference every day.
In this role, you will monitor the safe and proper execution of work in the OBL area and oversee the work permit process and compliance with Chemelot Site Rules. You will be part of the OBL Site Office team within the Infra Services Business Unit, work closely with other Shift Supervisors OBL Site and SHE Officers, and report to the Manager OBL Site Office.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the work permit (WV) process in accordance with Chemelot Guideline 2024.
- Review, issue and release work permits for low, medium and high risk work.
- Coordinate safety measures and coordination between applicant, issuer and permit holder.
- Carry out workplace inspections, LMRAs, start work reviews and monitoring of compliance with safety measures.
- Advising SHE (solicited and unsolicited).
- Review, (co-)draft, review RIE, JSA, TRA (internal and third party).
- Identify and report deviations, incidents and unsafe situations.
- Assist the SHE Officer with incident investigations, audits and SHE reports.
- Participate in improvement projects and contribute to continuous improvement of the
- WV process (KPIs, lessons learned).
- Point of contact for HSE matters OBL Infra: contractors, Site Users and project teams.
- Provide input for monthly and quarterly reports within the HSE domain.
We are looking for a committed and decisive Shift Supervisor with a background in safety and experience in an industrial environment. Someone who works in a structured way, applies procedures carefully and is alert to risks. You communicate easily, enjoy working together and remain calm and decisive even in special situations.
Qualifications
- Completed course in Secondary Safety Education (MVK).
- Minimum of several years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Decree and Chemelot Site Rules.
- Knowledge of work permit systems, TRA/JSA and LMRA methodology.
- Good communication skills and able to work effectively with contractors and operations.
- Analytical and decisive, with attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
- Willing to work flexibly within day shift, with commitment to special situations.
