OASE project for sustainable water management at Chemelot

Circle Infra Partners and BLM Industrial Contracting sign agreement to launch OASE project for sustainable water management at Chemelot. In collaboration with project partners BLM Industrial Contracting and RHDHV, Circle Infra Partners is proud to announce the kick-off of the OASE project. This ambitious multi-million dollar investment marks an important step toward sustainable water management at the Chemelot site. The ceremony celebrated the final investment decision and showcased the joint commitment to safety, innovation and environmental management.

OASE project

The OASE project is an important project aimed at renewing and improving the water infrastructure at Chemelot. Objectives include separation and advanced pretreatment of process water before it goes to the IAZI (integrated wastewater treatment plant), sustainable compliance with environmental regulations, and reduction of nuisances by moving from open to closed storage systems. This investment underscores Circle Infra Partners’ role as a key partner in the sustainable transformation of the Chemelot site.

The project ensures that water management at Chemelot meets strict environmental standards and increases the compliance of existing facilities by separating rainwater from process water. Advanced technologies provide significant improvements in the pretreatment of water, ensuring better removal of sludge and microplastics. Two new closed process tanks and a new highly effective settling plant are being built.

“The OASE project demonstrates the commitment of Circle Infra Partners and Chemelot to pursue further sustainability of water management in the process industry, with better treatment processes ensuring a cleaner environment. We are proud to lead this initiative, which is in line with our commitment to safety, innovation and environmental stewardship.”

Christian Widdershoven, CEO Circle Infra Partners

“This collaboration with Circle Infra Partners on the OASE project also highlights our shared commitment to continuously improving and making the infrastructure at Chemelot more sustainable. With our 35 years of site knowledge and experience combined with our professionalism, with this project, together with Circle Infra Partners and RHDHV, we are supporting Chemelot with its transition to Europe’s leading, climate-neutral and emission-free ‘circular chemistry site’. And we are already proud of that!”
